Can other families see our expenses?
No. Every family account is completely isolated. Other registered families on the platform cannot see your data under any circumstances. Your expenses, your family members, and your reports are visible only to your own household.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. All data is stored on a private server at yrsmail.com — not on any third-party cloud or advertising platform. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Sessions use secure HttpOnly cookies. Every form is protected against CSRF attacks. The platform contains no advertising or third-party tracking of any kind.
Does Home Budget Manager show ads or share my data?
No. Home Budget Manager is a private platform with no advertising and no data sharing. Your financial data is never used for any purpose other than displaying it to you. See our

Account & Registration
How long does account activation take?
Registration is typically reviewed and activated within 24 hours. You will receive a confirmation email when your account is ready. If you have not heard within 24 hours please check your spam folder. Do not register again — this will not speed up the process.
Is there a cost to use Home Budget Manager?
No. Home Budget Manager is completely free to use. There are no subscription fees, no hidden charges, and no premium tiers. All features — including reports, Excel export, and unlimited family members — are included at no cost.
Can I change my email address or password after registration?
Yes. Once logged in, go to
My Account to update your name, email address, or password at any time. If you have forgotten your password, use the
Forgot Password link on the login page to receive a reset email.
Family Members
How do I add my partner or children to my account?
Once logged in as the Family Account Holder, go to My Family → Add Member. Enter their name and email address and they will receive a welcome email with their login credentials. You can add as many members as you need with no limit.
What can a family member see when they log in?
A family member can log new expenses and view and edit the entries they have personally added. They cannot see expenses logged by other family members, and they cannot run household-level reports. Only the Family Account Holder sees all entries and has access to full reports.
My child is young — can they log their own school expenses?
Yes. You can add any family member regardless of age. For younger children you might log expenses on their behalf yourself, or give them their own login so they can enter school costs directly. The account holder retains full oversight of everything logged.
What happens if a family member forgets their password?
There is a Forgot Password link on the login page — a reset email will be sent to their registered address. As the account holder, you can also reset any member’s password directly from the My Family section in your dashboard.
Reports & Data Export
Can I export my data to Excel?
Yes. As the Family Account Holder you can export any weekly, monthly or yearly report to an Excel (.xlsx) file from the Reports section. Useful for tax returns, mortgage applications, or your own financial planning.
What is the difference between the three report types?
Weekly — shows every expense for the current or any past week. Great for staying on track day to day. Broken down by category and by family member.
Monthly — the most useful view for most families. Full month’s spend by category and by family member. Compare to previous months.
Yearly — the full annual picture. See seasonal patterns — like how much more you spend on heating in winter — and supports year-end financial planning.
Can I delete old expenses?
Yes. Any family member can edit or delete their own expenses from the My Expenses page. The Family Account Holder can also delete any expense from any member via the Family View in the admin section.
Mobile & App
Home Budget Manager is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you can install it directly on your phone from your browser without going through the App Store or Google Play. On iPhone: open in Safari and tap the Share button → Add to Home Screen. On Android: open in Chrome and tap Install when prompted.
Basic navigation works offline, but logging expenses and viewing reports requires an internet connection as all data is stored securely on the server.
